Course Available From: 20 November 2026
Effective workplace safety begins with the ability to recognise hazards, understand the risks they present and take appropriate action to control them. Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment & Risk Control (HIRARC) is a practical training programme designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to systematically identify workplace hazards, assess associated risks and implement appropriate control measures in accordance with Malaysian occupational safety and health requirements.
The course covers the fundamentals of HIRARC, hazard identification, risk assessment processes and risk control, including hazard classification, likelihood and severity assessment, risk prioritisation and the hierarchy of controls. Participants will also learn approaches to reducing likelihood, consequences and exposure when managing workplace risks.
Through a structured approach, participants will develop a clearer understanding of how to identify hazards, evaluate workplace risks, determine suitable control measures and document the HIRARC process. The programme also covers monitoring, review and continuous improvement to support effective workplace safety and risk management practices.
Suitable for employees, supervisors, safety personnel, team leaders and individuals involved in workplace operations, this programme provides practical knowledge that can be applied to support a safer and more systematic approach to occupational risk management.
